As of last night the Democrats have lost their majority in the House. What a surprise.
The only positive of the evening is that Harry Reid won his race in Nevada and that Dems may, possibly, hold onto Washington state and Colorado.
Maybe something good will come during the lame duck session, get something done while no one has anything to lose.
But for the most part, say goodbye to progressive America, at least for two years.
President Obama has done what he set out to do, maybe a little less, and people are mad because the economy isn't in perfect condition right now?
If the economy was in perfect condition by this point, pigs would also have the ability to fly (see image) and John Boehner's tan would be real.
Seriously, we had, like, a lot of unemployment, and just about all the Republicans seemed to try their hardest to keep the economy from improving.
Anyhow, watching Fox News, they made it sound like this election was the most amazing thing in the world and the fact that Republicans won back the House was a big shock and "historical" (never mind the fact that in 2006 Democrats won back the House and the Senate in the same election, I feel like that's a little more "historic").
Fox News basically had a victory party on air, as Dana Milbank describes in the Washington Post.
But really, this is no time for celebration-the United States just took a huge, and I mean HUGE, step back.
